2nd International Conference on the Dynamics of Coastal Zone of Non-Tidal Seas (school-seminar).

General information

The purpose of the Conference (school-seminar) is to transfer the current knowledge on hydrodynamic and physical aspects of coastal oceanography from senior scientists to young researchers and to provide an opportunity for all participants to share their scientific achievements and ideas to ensure further progress in understanding the physical fundamentals of nearshore and coastal dynamics. The Conference will serve as a school-seminar, and, therefore, two forms of presentations will be used - invited lectures by leading experts and poster sessions by other participants. The Conference continues the tradition of its first successful predecessor, held in Baltiysk (Russia) in June-July, 2008. Time period and tentative program: 27 – 30 June 2010 26.06.2010, Saturday Arrival 27.06.2010, Sunday Topic 1 «Hydrodynamics of marine coastal zone and related issues» * 28.06.2010, Monday Topic 2 «Lagoons and estuaries» * 29.06.2010, Tuesday Topic 3 «Interaction between coastal zone and open sea» * 30.06.2010, Wednesday Excursion 01.07.2010, Thursday Departure * - program for each day includes 4-5 invited lectures and a poster session Venue of the Conference Conference will be held at the Field Scientific Station “Baltic Spit” of the Atlantic Branch of Shirshov's Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences, located in Kosa Village, City of Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Oblast (Province), Russian Federation. The station is located at the Vistula Spit just near the inlet of the Vistula Lagoon, at a walking distance (5-7 minutes) from the lagoon and see shores.
